Client brief

I need a name that communicates the fact that we infuse beautiful, emotionally moving elements into all of our work. We specialize in developing brands and creative elements that connect with people within the age of 18-34. We're rockstar video/motion graphics editors and web developers but the name needs to be generic enough to allow for expansion into other creative areas. This will also be a collective of freelancers rather than a typical agency. The name should skew just a little bit young and edgy and evoke some sort of emotional response. I'd like a catchy, short, easy-to-remember domain name but no made up words or odd spellings. Two agencies in my area that have great names: archrival.com, thoughtdistrict.com.

Naming tips for Small creative boutique (web design, identity, video, photography)

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
