Client brief

We are developing a new and innovative web application which will allow users to blog their trip in an entirely new and elegant way. This blog will include the trip route, countries, locations and tips. In addition other people may review blog posts and base a planning of a new trip on other people recommendations. We liked the domain name Travelog.com but its taken. And so are many others with the words trip, traveler, tip, route, trek, etc. We would like to differentiate ourselves from TripAdvisor as we suggest entirely different service. Therefore, all the domains with Trip* (Tripsomething) aren't wanted. In addition Expedia like names are also not wanted. Thank you and good luck.

Naming tips for NEW travelling site for blogging trips and recommendations, and trip's planning

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
