Client brief

We want a short modern catchy name. We want the brand to be simple, bold, and elegant. Our focus is on mobile space. Though we are going after restaurants in the near term, in the future we want to go after other verticals. So, we don't want the name to restrict us to only restaurants and food. We are more particular on having a short and catchy name than having a meaning of 'mobile' in the name. If it is catchy and also conveys 'mobile', that is great too. Our differentiation - Non-technical users can build custom websites that reflect their brand. It is just not a mobile website, but also a mobile marketing platform that would allow them to do mobile marketing. Our customers in the near term are restaurant owners, design firms and marketing agencies.

Naming tips for Need domain name for web services firm building mobile websites for restaurants

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
