Domain Squatting is registering or using a domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else.
Stealing other peoples ideas and domain squatting is something we have zero tolerance for at NameStation. When such cases are proven, we ban those users forever.
You're right to be concerned about the privacy of your name ideas, since you can save and rate your unregistered domain name candidates in a database hosted by us. Theoretically a database administrator could find out, which candidates you are considering for registration. This is not what we do though. NameStation is about providing the best possible solution for finding available domain names, not trying to trade with other peoples ideas. Simply put, having invested serious time and effort into building a sophisticated service for finding available domain names, we would never risk damaging our reputation with something stupid like domain squatting.
However, as long as a domain name is available, there is a chance that someone else may find and register it. Secure your domain names as early as possible and register them with your preferred registrar. Ensure that only people you trust have access to your Name Contests and favorite domain candidates.
If you are concerned that someone may have deliberately stolen one of your favorite name candidates, please send us the details so we can investigate the incident.
