Background of agency services:
- We focus on web design for mom & pop small businesses like lawn care, solar panel installation, small boutique stores, plumbers, etc
- Our biggest selling point that resonates with our clients is that we handle the website management and they can focus on running their business
- I can see us branching out to more design services in the future, and i don't want to rebrand every time we want to expand our services. I'm confident we will stay in the digital design space. We may do some branding, but mainly we'll probably expand to larger businesses - specifically ecommerce
Here are some requirements for the name, in order of importance:
- Name should have an available ".com" domain (i.e. if name is Bluemoon Design, then bluemoondesign.com or bluemoonwebdesign.com needs to be available).
- Prefer something unique that when searched on google, there's very little other results that appear
- Should be spelled normally (i.e. don't want "dzigns" instead of "designs")
- Name should resonate with small businesses rather than just sounding cool or being unique
- however, the name shouldn't box us in to just that specific audience (i.e. smallbusinesscheapdesigns.com would force us to always have a low price and work with small businesses)
- if there are multiple words in the name, don't want last letter of one word to be the same as first letter of following word (i.e. Design Network is designnetwork and two n's from different words are touching).
- Don't have one character being used for both words (i.e. "designetwork")- Don't have one character being used for both words (i.e. "designetwork")
- don't have a name that verbally sounds like it can be spelled a few different ways (i.e. nueudesign.com sounds like "newdesign" or "knewdesign")
- don't have a name that can be easily confused with another existing design agency (i.e. webstyled.com is available but it's too similar to webstyle.com)
- Prefer shorter name if possible
- try to use words that are unique and underused, but still communicate web design
- you may want to try putting the words together using interest forms of speech with "of", "is" "for", "from", etc. (i.e. "designfromfold.com" instead of "designfold.com")
- if the name has 2 words, I like when they rhyme (designanytime.com) or have alliteration (differentdesigns.com)
Open to any these types of names:
- compound word that communicates "web design" without saying "web design" (i.e. netguru.com and forgedigital.com both give a feeling of web design/development)
- name that is a made up word that sounds cool, is easy to spell, is unique, and is inspired by a word related to web design.
