Privacy Policy

We at NameStation.com ("NameStation") will never sell, rent, exchange, share or otherwise provide your personal information to other people, companies or entities. This applies to all information that you provide through any method of communication with NameStation. As such, your individual information is confidential. Any data that we gather are used by NameStation solely for the purpose of helping us serve you better.

Personal Data We Collect

We only collect and maintain data that has been knowingly given to us by you as a consumer or member:

  • When you sign up with email, we collect your email address and login credentials.
  • When you sign up with Facebook or Google, we also collect your full name and profile photo.
  • By filling out your profile, you can also add your country of residence and PayPal email address to request payments for participating in our name contests.
  • When you purchase a subscription or hold a name contest, we collect your payment method (e.g. payment card number, CVC code and expiration date) or PayPal email address.

When you provide or update information, any and all transmission of personal data is done through our secure server so that your data is protected. In this way, we encrypt all such transmissions and further protect the data after transmission against unauthorized access in our secure data storage.

How We Use Personal Data

We use Personal Data to facilitate the business relationships we have with our Users, to comply with our financial regulatory and other legal obligations, and to pursue our legitimate business interests.

We use user email addresses to provide our Services to Users, such as notifying users about updates to their projects and contests. We also send notifications about new contests to our contributors. When a contest expires, we send email reminders to close the contest and select a winner. When a winner is selected, we send a notification to the winner.

We may send you email marketing communications about our products and services, invite you to participate in our events or surveys, or otherwise communicate with you for marketing purposes, provided that we do so in accordance with applicable law, including any consent requirements.

You may choose to create a public profile, in which case we display your profile photo and the information you provided on your profile page.

Deleting, Downloading or Updating Your Data

You can edit your data on your Account and Settings page or contact our support team if you wish to delete or download your data.

Supplemental Data

Our site uses cookies and other technologies. These technologies record information about you, including:

  • Browser and device data, such as IP address, device type, operating system and Internet browser type, screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language, plug-ins, add-ons and the language version of the Sites you are visiting.
  • Usage data, such as time spent on the Sites, pages visited, links clicked, language preferences, and the pages that led or referred you to our Sites.

Domain Names and Keywords

We do not share your domain name ideas or keyword lists and never register any domains that you have found or selected as potential candidates for registration. However, we also do not reserve any domain names for our users. If you find available domain names, you should register them as soon as possible.

You should take caution not to disclose unregistered domain name ideas publicly.

NameStation uses aggregated keyword data for statistics -- for example "Top 100 keywords in past 30 days". Keywords in the statistics are never published unless there have been at least several hundred query occurrences.

In sum, your security and privacy is of our utmost concern, and we will never intentionally violate the trust you place in us.

NameStation Chrome Extension

The NameStation Chrome extension does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data on its own. The only network requests it makes are to namestation.com:

  • GET /api/users/me - to check whether you are signed in to your NameStation account. The response is cached locally in your browser for 60 seconds and is never sent to any third party.
  • Standard page navigation (opening new tabs to NameStation tools when you click a button in the popup or use the right-click context menu).

Recent topic searches you make through the extension popup are stored exclusively in your browser via Chrome's storage.local API and never leave your device.

The extension does not read the content of pages you visit. When the popup opens, it reads only the current tab's URL and title in order to pre-fill the domain lookup field and attach page context to topic generation. This information is not stored or transmitted anywhere beyond the existing namestation.com API call described above.
