Client brief
We are working with and importing olive oil and table olives from small farms in Namibia and South Africa to be sold as a niche in the US market. In addition to being a top of the line extra virgin, we would like to emphasize the social justice aspect of the brand. We work with several small farms that hire, house and feed their workers, which are almost exclusively a diverse group of locals (many are bushman) from different cultures, speaking different languages, etc. Many of the workers have children and wives that live with them in the workers housing. Essentially, employment with these farms is a great first step for young men and women to break the cycle of poverty through work, safe housing, guaranteed meals and most importantly fair pay and the ability to move up the professional ladder.
Other key items: -Some of the farms, and many more in the future, will be powered via solar panels. Electricity is the most expensive aspect of these farms, and going solar not only saves money but is much more environmentally friendly. Plus it bolsters the relatively underdeveloped infrastructure in these areas. -Upward mobility through education, hard work and cooperation. -Branding is important to us, as the oil will be on the shelf with a lot of competition. We'd like to use simple, iconic branding that encourages one to pick up the bottle and read our story. Something simple and terse. -It's just really good olive oil.

Naming tips for Fair Olive Oil
Keep it pronounceable
A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.
.com still beats clever TLDs
Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.
Avoid trademark traps
Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.
Test it in a sentence
Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
