Client brief
We are building a SaaS product that we are preemptively calling Localisr. Unfortunately, the name Localisr is too similar to existing trademarks here in Australia. We are therefore holding this naming contest in order to come up with a new and unique name.
This product provides brands, stockists and service providers (together known as merchants) with:
1. A tool that allow the merchants to manage all information about each of their store locations in a single place; and
2. A Store Locator that can be embedded on the merchant's websites - presenting the merchant's customers with a tool that allows them to find the most suitable (often closest) physical store location to them, and showing the customer all relevant information about these stores (name, address, description, opening hours, contact details, geographical location - on a map, reviews, announcements, services, events, product recommendations, etc).
The Store Locator is fully customisable and can be tailored to the branding of the merchants on whose website it is embedded - with the ability to define the colour scheme, font, supporting imagery and photographs, and with features like Location Types and Custom Pins.
Location information (such as name, address, description, contact details, opening hours, photography, reviews, etc) is kept in sync with third-party services that share the location information with their users - such as Google My Business and Facebook - through integrations with these services.
Additional functionality for launch will include a RESTful Developer API for location management with web hooks for events such as creation, update and deletion of a location.
Future functionality will include:
1. Connected / Linked Locations: Giving stockists the ability to publish their stockist profile and physical store locations, and brands the ability to publish a brand profile and the products that they sell. Thereby allowing brands to discover new physical channels to sell their products through (that can be included as store locations with the Store Locator on their websites), and allowing stockists to discover new product lines to sell within their stores.
2. Store Representative Training: Where brands and stockists can publish video and textual training material for store representatives to complete.
3. Social Content from Influencers and Store Representatives: Which is published within a merchant's Store Locator on their website.
4. User Profiles w/ Product Recommendations + Store-Level Stock Availabilty Indicators: For Influencers and Store Representatives who want to take on the role of being brand champions.

Tips for choosing a great business name
Keep it pronounceable
A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.
.com still beats clever TLDs
Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.
Avoid trademark traps
Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.
Test it in a sentence
Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
