Digital Agency Creating Accessible Websites Name Ideas

Client brief

In a perfect world, my agency name would be short and witty.

It’s important that other creative/digital agencies do not share the same name.

Web domain availability of the brand name would be great, but of course, runs counter to a short two-word name. I'd be open to adding an additional word to the domain which makes sense in context.

I prefer names that are easy to spell and remember.

My creative agency is rebranding to capitalize on our experience creating accessible websites, which are easier to navigate for people with disabilities.

My target audience is usually aware of the importance and legal implications.

My content is focused on what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Improvements we make to combat common disabilities will be improvements for all. Whether a user has permanent impairments, is distracted, or has impaired themselves with a couple of cocktails, making a website less frustrating is a win for everyone.

Other agencies in the space can be very centered on technical details and get very much into the weeds in their messaging. We focus primarily on creating well-banded websites that are going to meet business objectives while guiding decisions to be accessible.

The space is flooded with names that include "access" or "equal", so it may be best to stay away from those unless there is something about the usage that really stands out.

Some brand names I have experimented with but had conflicts include:

able-minded (possibly offensive), bar none (existing agency), can do (existing agency)

Tips for choosing a great business name

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
