Client brief

We're developing a hiring platform where people can create a profile that companies can view. What makes us different is that our users will receive multiple job offers very quickly because we will screen their profiles and match them with companies, like a recruiting firm. It's geared towards the most talented young professionals, so we don't want a very conventional name. Guidelines for name:

  • .com should be available.
  • Should have no more than 4 syllables, fewer is better.
  • It's a big advantage if the name conveys our product to some extent.
  • Play on words is fine and even advantageous to some extent given our target audience.
  • Easy to pronounce.
  • Hard to misspell.

Naming tips for Website to get hired

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
