Movie news website Name Ideas

Client brief

I want to start a site for movie news, but I want it to be about movies with a large following, or fandom. Movies will typically include ones that are being adapted from books, comics and graphic novels, but also include other highly-anticipated movies and, eventually, tv shows. The audience for the website will be mostly younger females who love movies, books and celebrities.

I'm looking for a name that describes the website without being too literal. PageToPremiere.com is an example of a name I really like! It's also a similar site, to give you an idea. My site will feature more than just book to movie adaptations, though. I don't want anything too literal like "movienews.com" -- I'd really like something creative.

I'd obviously like for the .COM domain to be available, but I'd also prefer it if the matching social media URLs (Facebook, Twitter) were available.

Naming tips for Movie news website

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
