Client brief

We are looking for a short, distinctive, and brandable name for a design-focused, product-based brand that helps people explore and shape their living spaces through tactile, analog tools.

Our current product is called Room Planner — a physical home design kit that lets users sketch, arrange and furnish floor plans using pieces in scale 1:50. Think of it as a blend between a planning tool and a creative game for adults. It’s beautifully made, intuitive, and designed for both professionals (architects, interior designers) and everyday design-lovers.

Right now, Room Planner is both the product and brand name. We are now rebranding: Room Planner will become one product under a new umbrella brand. This is where we need your help finding the perfect name.

Over the coming year, we’ll expand the product line to include kits for planning kitchens, gardens, bathrooms, sketch pads, and more — all physical, analog, creative tools for shaping space and design ideas.

Who We Are

We are Bräck Studio, a Swedish architecture agency. Our work — and our products — are driven by a belief in collaborative, human-centered, and accessible design. The brand should carry the same values: thoughtful, creative, tactile, and inspiring.

Target Audience

  • Ages 25–50
  • Design-interested homeowners, architects, interior designers, students
  • Aesthetically driven, creative, and curious people
  • Global audience: Europe, North America, and Asia (with a focus on Japan and South Korea)

Unique Selling Proposition

  • Tactile and analog: Screen-free, hands-on, and creative
  • Architect-designed: Developed by a Swedish architecture team
  • Creative + beautiful: Tools that look as good as they are fun to use
  • Scalable product family: Future-friendly, with kits for various parts of the home and design process

Tone and Style

We’re looking for a name that feels:

  • Creative and modern
  • Elegant and timeless
  • Easy to say and remember
  • Abstract or conceptual (not too descriptive)
  • Global-friendly — should work across English-speaking markets, but ideally also sound good in other languages like Swedish, Japanese, Korean, etc.

Themes or Concepts to Reflect

  • Space
  • Shape
  • Form
  • Layout
  • Flow
  • Room
  • Plan
  • Home
  • Composition
  • Design thinking
  • Playfulness meets clarity
  • Creation / Arrangement

Domain Requirements

  • A matching .com is a big plus, but not required
  • Should not be in use by another design or product brand so that it can be protected as a registered trademark

Naming tips for name creative home design toolkit

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
