Browse 49 name ideas from 14 naming experts, or describe your own idea to generate names instantly.

Client brief

we are teaching kids about marine, ocean and sea life conservation and will be using documentary films in schools, offering grants to schools for projects etc. We will be focusing on captivity vs wild populations of marine mammals. We will be targeting educators, parents, and kids. Kid advocates for humane treatment of animals will be featured in a blog section.

need .com, .net, .org

We like the idea of pairing two words together that are not usually seen together like: yoocean.org pronounced yo ocean. This name did not test well with our audience because they said it was too "street" sounding. It is okay if it is a wordoid.

Greek myths are an interesting inspiration and so are native american stories about whales/orca and dolphins.

Tips for choosing a great business name

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
