Client brief
We are opening a new cidery on Kilmarnock orchard. We want the name to be super fun, edgy, modern and something really different. We are right on the Rideau Canal, closest lock station is lock 24. The Rideau Canal was recently designed a world heritage site. We have a few different types of apples, Macintosh, Cortland and some double reds. The property is beautiful and we will make the cider out of the apples we grow on site. The property is also on an island. The orchard was very popular and opened in 1981 and closed three years ago and was family owned and operated. There are close to 3000 tree and plenty of room for expansion. We plan on having a shop onsite and a venire for weddings and perhaps open a small cafe. Our focus for the cidery is to make the best tasting cider available in the area and a good tourist destination.
