Software and Venture Company Name Ideas

Browse 82 name ideas from 9 naming experts, or describe your own idea to generate names instantly.

Client brief

We undertake ventures, usually related to cloud based software products. However, we also simply deliver software development and project management services to companies that need our services.

We would like a cool name and it should not be a description of the company like "softwareventurepeople.com" or something like that. It should rather be a name, but it would of course be nice if the name gives association with some or all of our line of business.

The name must be very easy to pronounce. We and our customers are not native english speakers, so the name should be quite straight forward. For example, the name "venturoid" is not good people would doubt how to say the "roid" part of the name.

We would like the name to be max 3 syllables. It should be a .com domain, but if not, we do need to make sure that the owner of the .com domain is either not using it or is using it for something that cannot be confused with our service.

Naming tips for Software and Venture Company

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
