Client brief

I have an event management platform that was written specifically for companies/agencies/non-profits that provide professional development and continuing education for professionals in the education industry (teachers, principals, etc.)

The target market are the companies/agencies/non-profits that are looking for software that helps them facilitate the professional development and continuing education events.

It should be short and memorable. I'm looking for something that is fun. A play on words would be nice.

The events are typically known as workshops. Most of the people who attend workshops work in the public education system.

Tips for choosing a great business name

Keep it pronounceable

A good business name should be easy to say out loud and spell from memory. If you have to spell it out every time you say it, it will slow down word-of-mouth growth.

.com still beats clever TLDs

Despite hundreds of new extensions, .com remains the most trusted TLD for professional brands. Customers default to typing .com - pick a .com name whenever possible.

Avoid trademark traps

Before you register, run a quick trademark search to make sure the name is clear in your industry. Similar names in the same category can lead to costly disputes later.

Test it in a sentence

Say "I work at [name]" or "Check us out at [name].com" out loud. The name should sound natural, confident, and memorable in everyday conversation.
